Free BaZi Calculator: Your Four Pillars of Destiny Chart

This free BaZi calculator turns your date of birth into a complete Four Pillars of Destiny chart, also known in Korea as Saju. You get your Day Master, Ten Gods, five-element balance and 10-year luck pillars on one page, with plain-English notes on how the tradition reads them. Your birth time helps, but you can still get a useful chart without it.

What BaZi and Korean Saju are

BaZi means "eight characters" in Chinese. The system took shape in China over a thousand years ago and spread across East Asia, where Korea calls it Saju (four pillars) and Japan calls it Shichū Suimei. Whatever the name, the idea is the same: the moment you were born is written as four pairs of characters drawn from the Chinese calendar.

Each pair is a pillar made of a Heavenly Stem on top and an Earthly Branch below. Together the year, month, day and hour pillars give eight characters, and each one belongs to one of the five elements: Wood, Fire, Earth, Metal and Water. Practitioners read the chart as a picture of how those elements support, drain or check one another.

How the Four Pillars chart is calculated

The year and month pillars follow the solar terms of the Chinese calendar rather than 1 January or the lunar new year, so someone born in early February may belong to the previous BaZi year. The day pillar comes from an unbroken 60-day cycle that has run for centuries, and the hour pillar depends on which two-hour block you were born in.

You can enter your birthday as a solar (Gregorian) date or as a lunar date, including a leap month. If you know your birth city, you can switch on true solar time correction, which adjusts clock time to where the sun actually stood. That matters most when a birth falls close to the edge of a two-hour block.

What your WORLD DESTINY BaZi reading shows

Your result lays out all four pillars, with the hour pillar left optional when the time is unknown. Every stem and branch is labelled with its Ten God, and a five-element count shows which elements are plentiful and which are scarce. You also get a short description of your Day Master, the dominant structure of the chart (for example, output flowing into wealth), a simple reading of whether the Day Master is strong or weak, and the element the chart would benefit from strengthening.

Below that, a timeline of 10-year luck pillars highlights the one you are in now, alongside notes for this year and next. You can compare the main themes with your other charts, ask preset or free-form AI questions about the result, save the reading as a PDF, or share an image card that carries no personal data.

How to read the key BaZi terms

The Day Master is the stem of your day pillar, and the tradition treats it as you. Every other character is described by its relationship to it, and those relationships are the Ten Gods: Companion and Rob Wealth (same element), Eating God and Hurting Officer (what you produce), Direct and Indirect Wealth (what you manage), Direct Officer and Seven Killings (what shapes you), and Direct and Indirect Resource (what supports you).

Luck pillars are 10-year phases that bring a new stem and branch into play, and the annual pillar adds a lighter influence for each calendar year. Readers look at how these incoming elements meet your natal chart, which is why the same year can feel quite different from one person to the next.

Do you need your birth time?

Without a birth time you still get three pillars, six of the eight characters, and the luck pillar timeline. If you only roughly remember, choose an approximate option such as "around lunch" or "at dusk"; for dusk, the sunset time is worked out for your birth city. Treat any reading as one way the tradition sees a chart, not a fixed forecast.

All calculations run in your browser, and your birth details are not stored on our servers.

Frequently asked questions

Is this BaZi calculator really free?

Yes. The full Four Pillars chart, Ten Gods, five-element count, luck pillars and yearly notes are free, with no sign-up.

Do I need my birth time for a BaZi chart?

No. Without it you get the year, month and day pillars. You can also pick an approximate time such as "around lunch" or "at dusk" to estimate the hour pillar.

What is my Day Master in BaZi?

It is the Heavenly Stem of your day pillar, one of ten such as Yang Wood or Yin Water. The tradition treats it as your core nature, and your result explains yours in plain English.

How is BaZi different from Korean Saju?

They are the same Four Pillars system under different names. Saju is the Korean term, and the pillars, Ten Gods and luck cycles work the same way.
